The voice of dissent... Jan 07, 2011
By Peas on Earth OK, clearly I am in a minority here and in general, but I *hated* these diapers. I got a bunch of them for our newborn because that's what the local cloth diapering shop recommended as the most popular for newborns, and because of the fantastic reviews here. I used them for exactly 3 weeks, then put them all aside and sold them.
Here's my issue with them: THEY GET WET ALL OVER!! So, the whole diaper is one unit. When the baby wets the diaper, the wetness doesn't stay in the center, but spreads to the entire diaper, waist area and all, and BOY do these diapers ever get wet!!!
Now, I can say for a fact that this is NOT usually the case, because by now (my daughter is 11 weeks old), I own about 12 different types of diapers. I bought one each of multiple diapers, to try. Let me say, I absolutely adore cloth diapering. It's just this diaper that I hated. If you want fitted + cover, I found the TotBots Bummis Bamboozle Bamboo Diaper (http://www.amazon.com/Bummis-Tots-Bamboozle-Stretch-Diaper/dp/B0043YDJNO/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=baby-products&qid=1294441187&sr=1-3) to be far superior. That said, by the time you spend $20 on a single diaper, may as well get all in ones. BumGenius Elemental, TotBots, Blueberry SwaddleBees (Basix/simplex), BottomBumpers are all fabulous all-in-ones. And NONE of them have the same issue as these - the wet all over. They wet just in the center, it doesn't spread, and all of them absorb better than these. The only diaper in which my daughter ever complained about wetness was this one. She's really happy in all the other ones, even when they get wet.
What's good about these then? One thing only. They fold in the center so you can pull them away from the belly button until it falls off. But I didn't find covers that did that so it defeated the purpose, and honestly, to buy a diaper because it's good for two weeks is hardly worth it in my opinion.
Just one mom's opinion...

Best NEWBORN fitteds. Period! Aug 01, 2009

LOVE these for NEWBORNS! They're super absorbent, but still dry in a reasonable amount of time, and truly fit 5lb preemies through 12lbs or so. And the TWO rows of snaps make them very versatile, even accommodating the cord stump, and DURABLE for this time period when babies go through SOOOO many dipes per day! Velcro just doesn't hold up for infants. Any BF poo stains easily come out in the sun! They are very trim too, allowing you to use many different brands of covers with them easily. Can you tell I LOVE these!! For our next baby I will buy at least 30 of these size 0s, instead of prefolds or any of the other fitteds we tried...even with the cost involved. They're worth it! But then I'll switch to bG OS dipes when baby's bigger, like 12+ pounds.
Note: The larger size Kissaluvs still fit great, but in order to maintain their shorter drying time, they're not designed with anymore absorbency to match how toddlers start to "hold" their pee and then pee all at once So you may have to add an insert to increase absorbancy, losing the diapers nice trim design...

Absorbent, keeps newborn poo in Jan 20, 2009
By H. Montague I love these fitted diapers. I pair them with a Thirsties cover and my daughter's breastmilk poo explosions stay inside the diaper with no leakage at all. I am so impressed with them. They line dry a bit slowly because they are thick, but dry quickly in the dryer. I line dry them though and they're pretty much completely dry after a few hours in the sun. Poo stains come out easily when I hang them in the sun. The elastic legs fit snugly, but don't leave bright red marks on her legs. They are trim fitting as well. I think I'll go buy some more!

LOVE these diapers! May 03, 2010
By New Mom These are by far my favorite diapers for a newborn! My son was 9lbs 2oz at birth and these worked great from day one and for several months. They are great at holding in BF poo and super absorbent for pee. As my son grew and slept longer, we started adding a doubler at night. Washing was super easy. I was a little unnerved when, after a couple months they started to look stained, but one round of drying in the bright sunshine and they looked like new (I kid you not, they looked like new diapers, unbelievable!). I did find that since they take a while to dry, I needed to buy a few more than anticipated because I prefer to line dry instead of putting them in the dryer. Line drying does take a while for all the layers of these dipes. They can also be a little stiff right off the line, so I toss them in the dryer for just a few minutes and they soften right up. They're still perfectly functional if they're stiff and my son never seemed to mind, I just liked the feel better if they'd tossed around in the dryer for just a few minutes. The best part though? I used these on my first son and they still have plenty of wear left for my next one, due next month. Now THAT'S a bargain (especially when you consider that a friend borrowed them in between)! Super good quality and longevity!

Great Newborn Daytime Diaper Mar 08, 2011

I ordered 12 of these in the smallest size for use with our newborn boy, and overall they were great! We used them with Thirsties XSmall, Thirsties size 1, and bummis newborn covers with them. I used the Thirsties covers for the longest so they were the best investment.
Pros: These diapers are amazing at containing runny, explosive newborn poop. I have yet to have anything leak. There is a nice snap down in the front for when the cord is there. I used this to adjust the rise for a few weeks after the cord was gone as well. Easy to wash, can go in the dryer, bleach clean in the sun. Drying time is about average (fully dry after two dryer cycles). For comparison the Thirsties Hemp inserts are still slightly damp after two cycles. Super soft and comfy and fit well inside the diaper covers we chose.
Cons: Wetness: tend to get wet all over when peed on (multiple times); entire diaper front to back gets wet, so I tend to use these during the daytime when he's changed more frequently. Fit: I was only able to use these for the first nine weeks. Our son was born at 8 lbs and by 11 lbs (8 weeks) these were too tight around his legs. To me this seems like a design flaw since even at 2 weeks old we used the outer set of the snaps for sizing, and he wasn't a huge baby. If I had to do it again, I would probably only buy 6-8 instead of 12 and get a few more of the pocket diapers we use.
Overall I really liked these. They were simple to use for me, my husband, inlaws, outlaws, etc. I've ordered a few to try in the next size.
